Memorial Service
Just headed over to a memorial service today. Wasn't really expecting any crazy pics but was still hoping for something so I went with the writer anyways. The pics weren't that great. Probably end up running one of them unveiling the plaque instead of any of these. Plus that third one looks a little awkward. Eh, it happens.
ADAM SACASA / WESTERN COURIER Trooper Ed Howard, right, led a ceremony unveiling a plaque in honor of Honorary Trooper Larry "Brownie" Myers on Wednesday April, 8, 2009.
ADAM SACASA / WESTERN COURIER Terry Royal, left, hugs Charlotte Leighty at the memorial ceremony of Honorary Trooper Larry "Brownie" Myers on Wednesday, April 8th, 2009. Royal was a good friend of Myers and a fire fighter while Leighty was his aunt.
Myers lost his battle with cancer in August 20, 2008. He became an Honorary Trooper by then Governor Jim Edgar in 1997 because of his support of the Illinois State Police and District 14 in Macomb.
